PROFESSIONAL LEARNING GUIDELINES

**MEMBERS MUST SUBMIT THE  APPLICATION A MINIMUM OF  2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF THE EVENT**

SCETF Members may apply for funding for one of the following which will be completed within the school year (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022)

A) Resources B) Conference/Workshop C) Course

A) RESOURCES Up to $150.00 for professional learning resources (books) (Excluded   are: teacher guides, student workbooks/learning materials, black-line resources or technology.) Resources that are a literacy or math type program, lessons, activities and picture books are considered learning materials for classroom use not professional learning materials and will not be approved.

B) WORKSHOP/CONFERENCE Costs incurred up to $350.00 for conference, workshop or seminar. Members will be limited to attending PD opportunities within the province of Ontario.

Eligible expenses include:

  • Registration
  • Hotel
  • Meals (as per ETFO policy) (Max.: Breakfast – $15; Lunch – $20; Dinner – $45; Daily – $80)
  • Transportation (.59/km.) (receipt not required)
  • Supply Coverage (up to 2 days) SCETF funds will not cover supply teacher costs for travel days to conferences/workshops

C) COURSE Registration costs incurred up to $650.00 to fund AQ, ABQ, PQP, and Undergraduate, Masters, PhD or ETFO credit courses.

SCETF FUNDING IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR BOARD SPONSORED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING.

  1. The Professional Learning Fund is NOT intended to supplement the Simcoe County District School Board’s In-Service, nor any School Board or Ministry initiatives.  It is intended for SCETF Members who are self-directing their professional learning.
  2. Requests will be considered in the order in which they are received until the funds are exhausted.
  3. Upon completion of the course/conference/workshop/ or purchase of professional learning resources (books) or course, receipts, a copy of the Evaluation Form & Financial Declaration must be returned to the SCETF Local Office within 30 days.
  4. Applications remaining incomplete after 30 days of the completion of the PD activity shall be deemed incomplete and closed.

READING FOR THE LOVE OF IT (Stay tuned for next year’s dates)

A max of 40 people can be approved for release and funding for “Reading for the Love of It.” Priority will be given to members who did not attend in 2022.
